Netivot HaTorah, a dynamic Orthodox day school in Toronto, is seeking a Judaic Studies Principal for the 2026-2027 school year, to collaborate with a dedicated team of faculty and administrators in guiding, supporting, and inspiring students, teachers, and parents. Having over 600 students and supporting the diversity of the Orthodox community in Toronto, Netivot is looking for a visionary, engaging, collaborative and creative Torah leader.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Judaic Studies Principal will work in partnership with the General Studies Principal to lead Netivot’s academic program and be responsible for supporting and supervising teachers and curriculum in Grades 1-8.
The successful candidate for the position of Judaic Studies Principal will be an exceptional religious role model for all students and be able to lead in enacting the school’s Orthodox mission. As well, the ideal candidate will:
- Be able to guide and support teacher growth and curriculum development.
- Ensure that the program appropriately challenges and supports a diverse array of learners.
- Work collaboratively with the senior administrative team to ensure consistency in setting, managing, and monitoring the curriculum and expectations for academic achievement as well as social and emotional development.
- Collaborate closely with the Rav Bet HaSefer to ensure that the Judaic curriculum reflects and reinforces the school’s core pillars of Torah, Israel, and Derech Eretz.
- Be a responsive, articulate, and adept communicator while also being an effective listener.
- Enjoy being a member of a school community who connects with students, parents, and faculty with ease and sincerity.
- Have a decision-making style that balances input, collaboration, and decisiveness and approaches difficult conversations with directness and kindness.
- Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Netivot HaTorah seeks a leader who:
- Has a Masters Degree in education or its equivalent or Smicha.
- Is a fluent Hebrew speaker.
- Has leadership training (PQP, YouLead, or equivalent) or experience in leadership.
- Has at least five (5) years of successful teaching and teacher leadership. Administrative experience and a track record of success as a leader, manager, and supervisor is preferred.
- Is deeply knowledgeable about best practices in teaching and learning, and has Torah content relevant to supporting teachers in an Orthodox Day school.
