The Jewish Studies teacher will report to the Director of Jewish Studies, and be responsible for supporting the diverse learning needs of our student community.
The ideal candidate for the position of Jewish Studies Teacher will:
- Embrace the mission, vision and community of Netivot HaTorah;
- Guide, observe and assist classroom teachers with instructional techniques and practices that will improve learning for all students;
- Create lessons and curricula tailored to meet a range of student interests and plan further action based on related proficiencies;
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs);
- Work together with our team of teachers to create lesson and unit plans that are tailored to meet the needs of a variety of students.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education with teacher college certification or equivalent
- Proficient in speaking Hebrew
- Familiar with the study of Chumash and commentary
- Familiar with current technology and assessment methods
- Knowledge of current thought and practice in child development
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Being a member of a school community who connects with students, parents, and faculty with ease and sincerity
- Has a decision-making style that balances input, collaboration, and decisiveness and who approaches difficult conversations with directness and kindness

The successful candidate for the position of Jewish Studies Podolski-NESS Teacher will:

- Guide, observe and assist classroom teachers with instructional techniques and practices that will improve learning for all students, and specifically those with learning disabilities and other exceptionalities.
- Create lessons and curricula tailored to meet a range of student interests and plan further action based on related proficiencies
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Work with students with learning disabilities and other exceptionalities
- Plan and implement curricula for math enrichment
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education with teacher college certification or equivalent
- Oral and written Hebrew communication skills
- Degree or qualification in special education
- Familiarity with current technology and assessment methods
- Knowledge of current thought and practice in child development

The teacher must be proficient in teaching literacy, and be versed in implementing a balanced literacy approach in an early childhood setting.

- Hebrew speaking and knowledge of chaggim and parsha
- Familiarity with instructional and educational technology

- Proficiency in play-based and inquiry-based learning (for early childhood)
- Interest in participating in a mentor-mentee relationship, facilitated by the school

Netivot HaTorah is seeking a hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person to act as a facilities coordinator and caretaker at our North Campus in Thornhill. This is a full time position Monday to Friday. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
The facilities coordinator will work closely with the Operations Manager and Events Coordinator to manage the general maintenance and cleaning of the school and ensure the smooth running of school programs.
The facilities coordinator is responsible for:
- Supervising the maintenance staff in order to ensure cleanliness of the building, stocking of supplies and general upkeep and care of the School
- Setting the priorities for maintenance and repairs in all campuses – Coordinate basic repairs to property, fixtures, fittings and equipment, elevator, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, roofing etc….
- General maintenance and repairs (ex. Bulletin board painting, hanging up boards, putting furniture together)
- Coordinating room set-ups and take-downs
- Coordinating with vendors coming into the schools, such as garbage disposal, HVAC, snow removal, cleaning company etc….
- Receiving and checking goods received arriving at the school from suppliers
- Providing support for our licensed classrooms, such as maintaining cleaning logs, conducting water testing, managing playground cleanliness and maintenance
- Preparing the school for September during the summer months
- Acting as a back-up caretaker as required
The candidate must
- Be reasonably fit to cope with the lifting and carrying
- Be able to work flexible hours
