Netivot HaTorah Parents’ Association!

Our goal at the Netivot HaTorah Parents’ Association (NHPA) is to enrich our children’s school experience! We work hard to enhance a sense of community, sponsor & host special events, and contribute to exciting school projects.

We do so in some of the following ways; details of how you can help with each project in blue text.

Enhancing a sense of community
  • New family welcome packages ; help to pair mentor families with new families, assemble packages at end of summer
  • New family mentor program ; help to coordinate mentor and new family event late summer
  • Back to School Welcome Event ; help to answer questions about the NHPA, encourage volunteer sign- up, be an NHPA ambassador :), end of summer
  • Motzei Shabbat learning initiative in various homes ; organize and advertise the program, solicit hosts – winter motzei Shabbatot
  • Coffee mornings ; order coffee, breakfast items, paper goods, set up lobby at main campus and/or social hall at south campus, ensure various NHPA branded material for sale, tidy up at end of event ; end of summer/first few days of school
  • Class Parent ; sign up to be a class parent at the beginning of the school year, help to liaise between teachers and parents when volunteers need to be recruited, inform fellow parents in the class of births, illness,  or other opportunities for chessed (meals, help with carpools, etc.) ; all year
Sponsoring and hosting special events
  • Yom Ha’atzmaut BBQ ; help with shopping and ordering before event, organizing boxes for each classroom the night before, bbqing, distributing to classrooms, helping to tidy up ; work starts about 1 month before
  • Yom Yerushalayim/Shavuot ice cream truck visit ; assisting on day-of to call classes down to get ice cream
  • Family Day skating event ; purchasing snacks, setting up  NHPA table
Contributing to exciting school projects
  • School calendar ; soliciting ads, starting around March of the previous school year, buying calendars :)
  • School lunch program ; VOLUNTEERING  at lunch time to distribute hot lunches, daily or weekly – OUR GREATEST NEED
  • School Start ; school supply online ordering ; communicating with vendor, updating supply lists, help with distribution of supplies at end of summer
